Hi All,
I am moving the “Official” BDUG support site over to groups.drupal.org:
http://groups.drupal.org/berkeley-users-group-bdug
Their tools have evolved to the point where it is as useful as a separate site, I think it is useful to focus the conversation in one place.
See you over there.
Here are the date for the Berkeley Drupal Users Group meetings in 2008. All the meeting will be in 290 HMMB on the UC Berkeley campus, and are on the 4th Thursday of the month, except in September.

This month – Building and Maintaining Drupal Modules with Derek and Tao
I will lead off with a “How to build your first Drupal Module”, which will be a a quick overview of Drupal’s great extension system. Then Derek (aka dww) will reprise his excellent BADCamp talk on “Maintaining your Drupal Contribution”. If you have ever been intimidated by the drupal.org module versioning system, Derek is the man who made it happen, and will make it all clear for you.

BADCamp ’07 – the Bay Area Drupal Camp – is coming! You are encouraged to come to this event to learn and share your knowledge about Drupal, the web’s hottest open source content management system.
BADCamp will take place at the UC Berkeley campus on Saturday and Sunday, Nov 3rd and 4th. BADCamp is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in Drupal for a couple of days and have a blast doing it.
Agenda TBD
Greetings Bay Area Druplers,
Our next meeting will be THURSDAY, September 27th, Noon-1:30 at 290 HMMB, UC Berkeley (note the change of day from our usual Wednesday time slot)
This month – Developing Drupal Sites at UC Berkeley.
Rob and Tracy, from Quiddities are going to talk about the sites they have developed at UCB (including the College of Arts and Science), and the trials and tribulations of Drupal and the campus bureaucracy.
Also, BADCamp ’07 is coming! Are you ready?

Topic: Views + CCK
These two module significantly expand the power of Drupal, allowing savy admins to do tasks that previously needed a developer. We will have an overview and show the solutions to a couple simple use cases.
This month’s topic: Image handling in Drupal.
This is a pretty meaty topic. I would like to at least touch on:
* An overview of Drupal file handling
* Images as nodes vs images as CCK fields
* The joys of imagecache.
CivicActions will be bringing Pizza (yay!)

Follow up:
We had another great meeting. About 20 folk showed up. Only about a quarter UCB folk which was quite a change from last month. Conversation ranged from "How does Drupal stack up to other CMS's", to tradeoffs of Image Cache vs Image module, to a Wysiwig slap-down, to debate over drupal.org hosting adds, and lots of stops along the way.
